He was there, on that mountain rumored to be replete with untapped silver and gold. A hundred hunters attacked the mountain, and a thousand adventurers butchered the beasts that lived upon it; yet even with his companions gone, he continued to stand guard, alone. Eventually, the people gave up trying to assail the mountain and its so-called guardian deity. He finally passed on, and in honor of his devotion to the mountain, a saint welcomed his soul as its Guardian, granting him the name Takeki.
